On This Date in! in 1784, E. Kidner opened the first cooking school in Great Britain. He didn’t try and teach how to make the traditional Steak and Kidney pie, the blood puddings, bangers and mash, bubble and squeak, or spotted dick. Instead he concentrated on French and Italian cuisine because nobody really knew what that other shit really was.
