On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1099 AD, Crusade leaders visited the Mount of Olives where they encountered a hermit who urged them to assault Jerusalem because God would be on their side and victory would be assured. The town folk who lived around Mount Olive would ask themselves years later why the Crusade leaders listened to and acted on “Mad Old Yusaf’s” advice, as everyone knew that his ex-wife was living in Jerusalem with her new boyfriend and spending her alimony like it was water being poured out of a jug.
