On this date in Twisted-History.com in 1943 because of his special talent to use food scraps in both unusual and appetizing recipes and reducing food waste during the war, the U.S. War Department awarded Mess Sergeant Edward Dzuba of Company A, 305th Medical Battalion, the Legion of Merit.
