On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1543 England and Scotland signed the peace of Greenwich, which is not to be confused with the creation of the Sandwich, which happened in 1743. All hail Lord John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, who invented the sandwich so that men could eat while working and women could show their love (other than the obvious) by making their man a sammich, preferably with meat, cheese, and a pickle and none of those sissified vegetarian/vegan crap options.
