On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1998 a ballistic missile was fired over Japan by North Korea. The missile came apart while it was in flight and landed in stages in the waters around Japan. North Korea claimed there was no known target and they were just ‘testing’ the launch button. North Korea sent a message to Japan and all it said was “My Bad.”
