June 14, 1789

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1789, the Reverand Elijah Craig was recognized for distilling the first bourbon. It is believed that the reverend was the first person to distill whiskey from maize and the drink was called bourbon because he lived in Bourbon County, Kentucky.
