September 4, 1998

On this date in Twisted-History.com in 1998 while in Ireland, U.S. President Clinton said the words “I’m sorry” for the first time about his affair with Monica Lewinsky and described his behavior as indefensible. The Irish were quick to ask him if it happened on a Thursday night and was he drunk, because anything that happens on a Thursday night after a pub-crawl didn’t count. When Clinton admitted that he was sobered, the Irish just murmured and said, “Poor bastard, he should’ve been drunk. We saw a picture of that Monica lass, and she was just the sort that you find yourself with after a Thursday’s pub-crawl.”
