On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY! in 2010 Georgia changed it second language to English with Merican officially recognized as its first. Many of the esteemed Georgian representatives and state senators were interviewed and asked why this had to been done and they explained, “We didn’t want the Federal Govmint to force Mexican or Esperanto on us as the official language, so we had us a preventive strike to only allow Merican as our official language and English as our second officially language.” When the Georgian law-makers were politely informed that ‘Spanish’ was the language of Mexico, not ‘Mexican’ most of them went “Du-HUH?!”, and when they were further informed that English was already the ‘official’ language of the United States and that ‘Merican’ wasn’t even a recognized dialect, much less a language in and of itself, the senators and representatives had the room cleared of all the Communist trouble-makers. The one question that the interviewers wanted to ask, but couldn’t as they were forced from the room was, when and where did the Georgia law-makers ever learn about Esperanto?
