On This Date in in 1970, the Jim Morrison, the lead singer of the rock group The Doors, pled guilty to the charges of indecent exposure and profanity for his antics at a concert in Miami, Florida. He claimed he only pled guilty because it was easier to pay the $500 fine and receive a suspended sentence of 6 months, rather than have to go through a trial and be found innocent, not because he flashed the audience. He also said “it’s a damned rock concert, cussing is going to happen. Hell, even the Admiral cusses.”
