October 24, 2001

On October 24, 2001, the US House of Representatives approved legislation that gave police the power to secretly search homes, tap all of a person’s telephone conversations and track a person’s use of the Internet. The police were surprised by how much people loved cat videos. They were not surprised at how much Southern preachers loved porn. The more they preached about how God hated homosexuals and liberals, the more likely they were to watch white men being spanked by black women.
