October 15, 1520

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1520, King Henry VIII of England signed the orders to have bowling lanes installed at his Whitehall residence. This was back when Henry was still a young man, tall and very athletic. In fact, he was the first rich-boy player who spent his money and used his royal influence to impress his peers and woo the bitches, or as Henry would say, “woo the smoking hot strumpets.” An indoor bowling lane at that time would be like having your own aquarium with tiger sharks today. Rappers and rockstars could take a page from Henry’s playbook on how to live large, except for the one were you chop the head off a nagging and aging wife to avoid alimony. That’s been pretty much ruled illegal for a while now.
