On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY! in 1860, Inventor Elmer Sperry was born. He held patents on more than 400 inventions during his lifetime, with the most important being the Sperry Automatic Pilot. The least important was the Sperry X-Ray Goggles for Seeing Through Women’s Clothing as it didn’t work and caused migraines in all the young men and boys who tested it, over and over and over again.
