October 1, 1957

On October 1, 1957, the first appearance of “In God We Trust” first appeared on paper currency in the United States. From deep beneath his place of rest underneath the Pentagon, Cthulhu was pleased. Jehovah sent him an angel-fax that said, “You know they mean me, right?” and Cthulhu replied, “Do they?”

Gods are the worst. They’re always doing crap like turning into a goose to seduce someone’s wife, trying to talk someone into sacrificing their kid, or devouring the world. Frankly, I don’t trust any of them. Share Twisted-History to put your trust in it instead.

About Joel Byers

Born in North Georgia and educated at some very fine public institutions. Real education started after graduating from college and then getting married and raising two boys. Has the ability to see the funny and absurd in most things and will always remark on it, even if it means getting the stink-eye from his victims.
