On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 2013 Australian scientists announced the discover of three new species of marsupial in Queensland; the Tweed Volcano Antechinus, the Buff-footed Antechinus and the Kroombit Anterchinus. Australian scientists were subsequently informed that they had lost the privilege to name new species since it was apparent that they didn’t take such a heavy responsibility serious. New Zealand scientists would now name any new species found in both New Zealand and Australia, just as long as they didn’t name any new animals after their favorite beer or girlfriend.
