On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1837 Canadia gave blacks the right to vote. Six months later they told them where the voting poll locations were. Several prominent American politicians, from both the North and the South, warned their northern neighbor that giving blacks the right to vote was a slippery slope. They said that before you know it, a woman would think she was entitled to vote if black men were voting and what would happen then? Would women and black men demand to get equal pay for equal work? That would be chaos.
