June 30, 2004

On June 30, 2004, the international Cassini spacecraft entered the orbit of the planet Saturn. It took the spacecraft nearly seven years to reach the second biggest planet in our Solar System. Charon, the moon of Pluto, was heard to complain, “Why can’t we get visitors? Saturn gets visitors. You never want visitors and don’t tell me that those no-good comet friends of yours count as visitors. All they want to do is say hello and speed back to the Sun. It’s not like they have any substance. They’re just dirty ice-balls if you ask me.” Pluto did his best to ignore her.
