On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1845 American writer Henry David Thoreau began his two-year experiment in simple living at Walden Pond, near Concord, MA. One hundred and sixty-eight years later, his great-great-great-great-great-grandnephew, Nathan Joshua Thoreau decided to continue Thoreau’s experiment by giving up his iPhone, internet, and cable TV and survive for two months on DVDs, pizza, beer, and whatever television he could receive via his rabbit ears. The experiment tragically failed after 72 hours as Mr. Nathan Thoreau went into iPhone withdrawal and tried to text using his margarita blender. His texting finger was never recovered.
