On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1940, Bugs Bunny made his official debut in the Warner Brothers animated cartoon “A Wild Hare”. Mickey Mouse sent Bugs a congratulatory bouquet of chrysanthemums and roses as well as a gift box of chocolate covered rabbit’s feet. It was then Bugs turned to his number two man, Elmer Fudd, and said, “The best defense against the treacherous is treachery. Send the duck.” Mickey’s half brother, Oswald Rabbit, disappeared from the public and wasn’t heard from again. The war between the Disney family and the Warner brothers soon escalated.
