On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1993, the US Housing Agency announced that 93% of Americans have access to indoor plumbing and on this same date, Sears announced that it would be closing its catalog sales department after running it for 97 years. Sears announced that it would be looking to have a ‘website’ on the ‘internet’ where people could go and buy things ‘online’ as that was the future and a paper catalog was the past.
