On February 26, 1907, the US Congress raised their own salaries to $7,500. In 1907, the average workers’ annual salary was between $200 to $400. So, it’s not just now that our Congressmen and Congresswoman are out of touch with the common man and woman. It seems they have always been callous toward the average persons’ needs.
