On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 2013 the opposition party in Djibouti decided to join the election, thereby ending a ten year boycott. Opposition parties banded together to campaign in the parliamentary elections and were able to participate largely unhindered. The main reason that the opposition parties rejoined the electorial process was because of the ruling party’s insistence in renaming the country from Djibouti to Danzurbouti. They became known as the Danzurbouti Party and the opposition became known as the Danzurbouti Off.
