On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 2012 in the Netherlands Dutch scientists grew meat from bovine stem cells. A team of researchers at Maastricht University led by Professor Mark Post successfully grew muscle tissue from the stem cells. The scientists said this was the first step in their goal of creating a lab-grown hamburger by the fall. Unfortunately pro-life protesters from the Kristian Defensive Coalition and their sister group, Catholics Against Condoms, picketed the University and said that using stem cells from embryos was against Gods will. When it was explained that the stem cells came from a cow embryo and that it was rumored that Chick-Fil-A and Truett Cathy may have bankrolled the research, the protesters hastily folded their tents and went home.
