On this date in Twisted-History.com in 2006 Tokyo faced an accidental blackout which lasted several hours as the Kaiju Gamera fought a tentacly-armed wasp thingy in downtown Tokyo. The battle and subsequent power outage disrupted the regular flow of business and delayed traffic and kept many businesses from opening until the next day. Many residents complained and said that Godzilla would have made short work of the wasp thingy and they wouldn’t have even missed any work.
