On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1895  playwright Oscar Wilde lost his criminal libel case against the Marquess of Queensberry. Wilde had been accused of homosexual practices. Mr. Wilde’s defense that no one should have sex with an ugly man doomed him, as all the judges at his trial were deemed to be hideously ugly men.
