April 15, 1738

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1738 the first true bottle opener was used and April 15th, 1738 has been named as its invention day. This is useful as prior to the bottle opener to get at the alcohol goodness of a sealed bottle, one had to use a rough corkscrew or just break off the top of the neck, which was never a good idea.
