On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1986 Kellogg Company stopped giving tours of its breakfast food plant. The CEO of Kellogg stated that the 80 year tradition was said that the company secrets were at risk due to spies from other cereal companies. Tony the Tiger was quoted as saying that Cap’n Crunch and Lucky the Leprechaun had been spotted outside the factory and that it was only a matter of time before they tried to infiltrate the building and steal the secrets to Fruit Loops or Frosted Flakes. Kellogg said this was the only way to prevent a full-fledged cereal war from breaking out and having the horror of cereal mascot on mascot violence showcased on CNN.
