Everyone predicted it wouldn’t last, as Dagwood had obviously married way above his weight class. To everyone’s surprise, they’re still married today. On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1897, the comic strip, “The Katzenjammer Kids” debuted in the United States. “The Katzenjammer Kids” was the first comic strip to use bubbles over the characters’ heads to indicate which character was speaking.
