On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1901, Theodore Roosevelt, then Vice President, while giving a speech at the Minnesota State Fair said his most famous line “Speak softly and carry a big stick”. When Kate Barker heard this, she acknowledged that a big stick was useful at times, but she preferred to “Talk like a boss and carry a loaded revolver.” People paid attention and handed their money over when you pointed a loaded revolver at them.
