September 13, 122

On September 13, 122 CE, the Roman Army began building Hadrian’s Wall in Northern England. The wall was to stop the Scottish barbarians from coming south and raiding the newly settled Roman farms and cities. Did it work? No. It did not. It just established where contraband would be bought and sold between the two areas.
