On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY! in 1969, Monty Python’s Flying Circus began airing on the BBC. Spam, spam, spam, and eggs instantly becomes funnier overnight in London, but it takes America 11 more years before they’re allowed to hear and see the jokes and skits on PBS and laugh. Three years after that, several Americans laugh again as they finally get the jokes.
