On October 16, 1987, toddler Jessica McClure was rescued from an abandoned well she had fallen into in Midland, Texas. The little girl had been trapped for 58 hours. When Lassie was contacted and asked why she didn’t help, all the Collie replied, “Was her name Timmie? I don’t think so.” She then back to sipping her Mai Tai and flipping through her People magazine wondering why there was no photo layout of her and Spuds Mackenzie entering the Roxy.
