On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 392 AD, Emperor Theodosius of Rome passed legislation prohibiting all pagan worship in the Roman Empire. When the uppercrust of Roman society came to Theodosius and asked if the banning of all pagan worship was also doing away with the drunken orgies, he let them know that as long as they weren’t pagan related, it would be okay, because the rich and powerful needed the little things to relieve the daily stress of managing an Empire as large and complicated as Rome.
