November 8, 1887

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY! 1887 – Doc Holliday died at the age of 35. The gun fighting dentist died from tuberculosis in a sanitarium in Glenwood Springs, CO. The coroner, Dr. James Elberson stated that if the tuberculosis hadn’t killed him, then the syphilis he’d contracted from Charity Knudson would have done him in. The coroner went on to say that if the syphilis hadn’t done him in, then most certainly, Charity’s cousin, Louisa Hall would have, for sharing the disease with her. And if Louisa hadn’t killed him, her husband Tom would have. The coroner came to the conclusion that Doc Holliday had been fortunate to die when he did.
