On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY! in 1935 – The game “Monopoly” was introduced by Parker Brothers Company, and 64 years later in 1999, U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson ruled that Microsoft Corporation enjoyed “monopoly power”. This was proven to be true in 2012 when Bill Gates’s personal monopoly game was mistakenly sold during his annual yard sale. Brenda Filkholm bought the game and when she took it home and opened it, every property on the board was a derivative of Microsoft or Windows, i.e., Microboard Walk and B & O Windows Railroad.
