On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1907 the Bubonic Plague broke out in San Francisco. Stray cats started accosting people in the street and telling them that cats were worshiped as gods in ancient Egypt and ancient Egypt never had the Bubonic Plague. The cats told the people of San Francisco that was because they, the cats, were eating all the rats and mice that carried the disease. The dogs of San Francisco weren’t having any of it and they were telling their owners, “Dude, Duuuuuuude, the cat is a liar. All they do is lie, lie, lie. In fact, I bet it was the cat that ate the sausage and bacon you were going to have for breakfast this morning. And will a cat protect you from a burglar or worse, the MAILMAN!” And the war between Clan Canine and the Royal Family of Felines continued.
