On May 2, 2000, US President Bill Clinton announced that accurate GPS access would no longer be restricted for military use only. Crazy ex-girlfriends (CXGs) throughout the United States secretly rejoiced and high-fived each other as stalking “the one that got away” became much easier. This was almost as big a deal for them as when in 1996 microchips and veterinarians who wouldn’t ask questions became available to the general public. The next groundbreaking innovation for CXGs wouldn’t happen until 2004, when Facebook went live and the ability to catfish a loved one or hated rival became reality.
