On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 2012 a missing piece of the Mayan calendar was discovered, proving that the Mayans didn’t believe the world would end in 2012. The missing piece was believed to be an advertisement that said, “Send 10 ounces of gold, 48 cacao beans and the still beating hearts of 14 slaves captured in war to Itzamna in Caracol for the next epoch’s calendar with twenty new holidays that require ritual sacrifices.”
