On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1975 the US Senate revised the filibuster rule to allow 60 senators to limit debate instead of the previous rule of two-thirds. The reason for the change was that most senators were incapable of doing higher math and deciding if 66 or 67 was the correct number of senators required was causing snarky comments during lunchtime.
