March 16, 1987

On March 16, 1987, in response to the highly believed myth that Albert Einstein failed math in school, the magazine “Bostonia” published an English translation of Albert’s final high school report card from 1896. In all of the math subjects, including physics, Mr. Einstein scored the highest possible grade. The math subjects included algebra, geometry and descriptive geometry. He even scored the highest grade possible in History. The only knock on his report card was that even though his Glee Club won Sectionals, they lost at Regionals.  Einstein thought they would have won if they had sang “A Hot Time in the Old Town” instead of their rendition of “Sweet Rosie O’Grady”. Even though the world didn’t gain an average tenor because of the Glee Club’s failure, it did get one heck of a mathematician.
