July 14th, 1914

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1914 Robert H. Goddard patented liquid rocket-fuel. Self-taught chemists in the mountains of North Georgia laughed and dared Mr. Goddard to sample some of their ‘rocket’ fuel. He officially declined their invitation but a heavy crate marked ‘flammable’ was delivered to his home from Blairsville, Georgia.
