On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1871, France surrendered in the Franco-Prussian War, thus continuing their history of losing wars since the ‘Curse of Napoleon’ took effect. France has since become known as the ‘Buffalo Bills’ of the military world with its inability to win a war.
