On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1900, Brigham Roberts, a Mormon from Utah, was denied a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for his practice of polygamy. The other Representatives’ reasoning was that if a man had more than one wife, he had more than one boss, and a man with more than one boss would be too confused to know how to vote properly.
