February 9, 1950

On February 9, 1950, US Senator and historic douchebag, Joseph McCarthy charged that the State Department was riddled, just RIDDLED with Communists. McCarthy claimed that there were Communists under his bed. There were Communists spying on his head. He said there were Communists in the news and that Communists were singing the blues. He said don’t look now, but that’s a Communists milking your cow. He said we all need to be aware, since Communists were hiding everywhere. This was the start of McCarthyism. A time when Americans acted like cowards and called it ‘Patriotism’.
