On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1974, Veronica and Colin Scargill of England began a tandem bicycle ride that began in New York City and lasted until August 27, 1975 and saw the couple cross the entire world and spanned 18,020 miles. What is truly amazing was that as of 2012, the Scargills were still married and tandem biking. They hadn’t killed each other or divorced.
