On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1854, Pope Pius IX proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. This is the official doctrine that held that Mary, mother of Jesus, was free of original sin from the moment she was conceived. They believed this was because Mary’s parents, Joe and Anne Cohen-Levi, only performed sex the one time in the missionary position on their wedding night and Anne didn’t really enjoy it as she was staring at the ceiling the entire time thinking, “Beige, I should definitely paint the ceiling beige.”
