August 29, 1991

On August 29, 1991, the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union suspended all activities of the Soviet Communist Party. Four months later, the Soviet Union would cease being the Soviet Union and revert back to calling itself Russia. It has been 28 YEARS since the Communist Party of Russia has been relevant. Which is strangely humorous, because angry, conservatives still dog-whistle communist and use it against people and platforms that they disagree with. It’s almost like they don’t have the education or intelligence to know what communism was and it’s their go-to vocabulary for something they are told to be angry about.
