On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1988 “The Last Temptation of Christ” opened in movie theaters across the United States. The negative publicity and outcry from conservative Christians actually caused more people to be tempted to go and see this movie than would have otherwise.

About Joel Byers

Born in North Georgia and educated at some very fine public institutions. Real education started after graduating from college and then getting married and raising two boys. Has the ability to see the funny and absurd in most things and will always remark on it, even if it means getting the stink-eye from his victims.

As tempted as I am to make a profane and highly inappropriate comment on this post, I’m going to restrain myself.
