On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1986 Kellogg stopped giving tours of its breakfast-food plant. The reason for the end of the 80-year tradition was said to be that company secrets were at risk due to spies from other cereal companies. It was especially disheartening to learn that Tony the Tiger was looking the other way as his friends Sugar Bear, Count Chocula, and Cap’n Crunch were sneaking in during the tours and taking notes. It was later learned that Toucan Sam and Snap of Snap, Crackle and Pop were the ones that turned him in when they’d uncovered his Fruity Pebbles addiction.
