May 23, 1618

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1618, The Thirty Years War began when three opponents of the Reformation were thrown through a window from the upper floors of the Hradcany Castle in Prague by a mob of Protestants. They fell 70 feet to the ground and surprisingly survived. This was known as the Second Defenestration of Prague. It appears from the historical record, that Hungarians enjoy a lively game of “Toss My Political Adversary From A Window That Is A Goodly Distance From The Ground”. It is also now documented that Catholics are part cat and will land on their feet when tossed from a window.
