On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1852 the first edition of Peter Roget’s Thesaurus was published. Many of the citizens of Great Britain wondered why so many of the words meant practically the same thing. In particular, they asked why were there so many different words for “poop”. It wasn’t like they were Norwegian and needed 32 different words for snow or even one for “HolyshitIshotapolarbearinmypajamasandhowhegotinmypajamasI’llneverknow” which was Ohshitfurginutten.
